First Visit
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Usually you will have xrays taken, have an exam by the dental hygienist and Dr. Hulings, and have you teeth cleaned. Some people will require a “deep cleaning” known as scaling and root planing. This will be determined during your examination and, if necessary, will usually be started at your second visit. Any further treatment needed will then be scheduled for subsequent appointments with Dr. Hulings.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Any recent X-rays if applicable.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, please contact us ahead of time with carrier information. This will save time and allow us to verify your benefits before you arrive. We will file insurance claims on your behalf. IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to your appointment (especially if you have artificial joints that your doctor has told you requires premedication).
X-Rays
If your previous dentist has taken recent x-rays (within 6-months), you may request that they forward them to our office. We do also have the capability to receive digital xrays via email from your previous dentist. If additional films are necessary, or if the previous xrays are not legible or diagnostic, they will be taken at our facility.
